Forgotten Wrecks of the First World War
Location:
South Foreland Lighthouse
Date(s):
Tuesday 15th March 2016 - Tuesday 15th November 2016
Time:
11:00 - 17:00
An exhibition in Kent tells of the hundreds of First World War shipwrecks lying just off our shores. They were lost due to torpedo attacks, scuttling, hitting mines, collisions, bad weather, poor communication and misfortune. The ships were of all shapes and sizes and carrying out a myriad of different tasks and activities when they were lost. Some of these stories behind the wrecks, together with artefacts recovered from wrecks, are being displayed in a temporary exhibition being hosted at South Foreland Lighthouse between 15th March and 15th November 2016.
