Description:
Iwade Rock is now in its 5th year..... Iwade what? We hear you say? You know that sleepy little village just before you go over the Kingsferry Bridge? Well once a year they go all out for a Glastonbury style Family Charity Music Festival... 2014 saw 2200 people, young and old, gather on the field of the Timu Academy Iwade and party like it was 1999. The Festival, founded by Iwadian Keith Reynolds, started life back in 2011 in the garden of the Iwade Village Hall as part of a village fete. Since then it’s gone from strength to strength with each year gaining more and more interest to finally in 2014 landing a larger venue of that being the field of the local school. 2014’s event had something for everyone, it housed a kids zone which contained many different inflatable’s, an assault course, the usual face-painting and art stands and a football penalty shoot out game to keep the little ones entertained for hours. There was a vast array of food outlets to keep even the fussiest of eaters happy and of course that all important bar serving cool drinks to keep the festival vibe going long into the evening. 10 Bands played for the crowds and raised a fantastic amount of money for three charities. The Weather was also on their side as temperatures soared to 28 degrees.

So what’s different for the event planned for 23rd July 2016? For starters there has been an increase in ticket allowance, now there is a staggering 3000 tickets available, they have increased the crowd amenities, the whole event is being professionally recorded both audio and video, there is talk of a live internet stream and have booked some amazing bands to tear up the stage and that’s not all tickets are on sale now, but be quick they have already sold 600 in just 20 days.......

Next year’s main charity partnership is between Iwade Rock and Demelza House in Sittingbourne, they will also be donating to The Iwade Herons FC and The Timu Academy Iwade. This event is totally non profit and is run by a small team of volunteers.

Priced at a very reasonable £7 for adults and £2 for under 16’s with a family ticket option too at £15, the event will sure to be a sell out long before they open their gates next July. That’s just 70p a band? Where on the planet can you get value like that?

The line up for next year is looking amazing with a varied mixed genre approach with literally something for everyone.....
